Mercury browser does not start

It does not start in live-USB and it does not start in installed system. The error message:

Hm, just now I tested both variants of Plasma, running Mercury in live mode and on an installation from that live ISO in VirtualBox. Mercury works fine there.

What DE are you using?

Mate Desktop and the latest PCLOS Debian mate-USB.

I downloaded and installed the MATE version in VBox. It opens properly, but there are messages in the console that Upgreyed will have to take a look at.

Those error messages have always been there but the browser works nevertheless.

I just tested the latest uploaded MATE iso with Ventoy and it works accordingly. Same as Gnome Boxes. Maybe you have a bad download?

It is a Mercury browser bug. I downloaded Mercury its own site, and it makes the same error. It works in some computers , but not in HP Compaq CQ70

Mercury won't work on some older computers as we discussed it here. The first version I had this warning and workaround but abandoned it with the later version as I thought it was fixed in this version but apparently not?

I have to say I've been lucky, several of my computers are over 13 years old and I've yet to find one that Mercury won't run on
